Never mind the bad reviews
Narrative
Media researcher Muncie Daniels must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos. Coleman Domingo’s first major TV role.. It’s a gripping, fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing from start to finish.
The cast deserves a lot of praise
It’s rare to see so much intense programming in just a few episodes, but this one does it brilliantly. Each episode keeps you on edge and eagerly queuing for the next. While the plot twists are sometimes predictable, they’re executed with enough style and suspense to be satisfying.
Visually, the series is a treat
The lead actor in particular gives a standout performance – his desperation, confusion, and determination are both believable and compelling. The supporting characters are well-formed, and each adds complexity to the story. However, I felt that several of the villains were a bit one-dimensional, which detracted from the depth of the narrative.
The chase scenes are shot to immerse you in the action
The cinematography perfectly captures the gritty, high-stakes feel of the protagonist’s journey. Another highlight of the musical score, which adds to the suspense without being overpowering, is its occasional reliance on clichés – some moments feel all too familiar to seasoned horror fans. Also, while the ending was satisfying, it left a few threads hanging that I would have liked to have resolved.
For fans of fast-paced mysteries, it’s a no-brainer
Overall, The Madness is a superior series with strong performances, a satisfying plot, and great production value. It’s not perfect, but it’s an adventure ride that’s worth your time. A strong 8/10.
