Service & Medical Camp at Kakuma

His Glory Ministries extended its mission of love and service to Kakuma through a life-changing service and medical camp. Partnering with local healthcare professionals and volunteers, the ministry provided free medical checkups, treatments, and health education to hundreds of residents, addressing critical healthcare needs in the community. Alongside the medical outreach, the team ministered through prayer, counseling, and evangelism, sharing the message of hope and salvation. This initiative not only brought physical healing but also strengthened the faith of many, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to holistic transformation—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Children’s Outreach – Lolemu, Turkana

His Glory Ministries visited Lolemu in Turkana, bringing hope and support to the children through a special outreach program. During the visit, the team provided essential supplies, including food and school uniforms, ensuring that the young learners had the necessary resources to continue their education with dignity. Alongside these gifts, they shared the Word of God, teaching the children about God’s love and purpose for their lives. Through songs, prayers, and Bible stories, the ministry planted seeds of faith in their hearts, leaving a lasting impact on both the children and the community.

Kakuma Visit

Greetings friends,
November 2022 was the first time I set my eyes on the village of Pelekech in Turkana County, Kenya. When I met with the elders of the village, they said that their greatest need was to have a school in the village. Their request was a confirmation of the desire that God had placed on my heart: to build a school for them. We did not want to help them by simply providing their needs for one day, but to give them a future and for them to be able to read God’s word for themselves. Our theme became “Let us Rise Up and Build” and after building three schools in Pelekech, Lolemu and Abaat our theme for 2024 became “Come see what the Lord has done” We give glory and honor to God for all that He has done, and we are grateful for your prayers and support.

Here is an update on what the Lord has done and is doing in Kakuma Kenya.

1.His Glory Ministries, Restoring Order Missions International, Christian Aid Ministries, a team from the USA, and a local Kakuma Medical team partnered together to provide a three-day medical clinic in the three villages in Turkana County in July.

2.The USA team held Vacation Bible School for more than seven hundred children. They also visited two High schools in towns of Mwingi and Kajiado and the Donyo Sabuk after school feeding program, serve hot meals and distribute food packages to the elderly.

3.We were grateful for the teacher’s housing that was completed in June 2024, as the teachers had been sleeping on the floor of the classrooms and office. We were glad to attend the opening ceremony as well while we were there.
Pelekech Village, now called the city of Lokipetot Akwan, has three school buildings with 345 students enrolled. There is a water well, solar power for the school and teachers’ housing and a small vegetable garden, Jt is a blessing to hear the children speak Swahili and English, as they had spoken only Turkana before attending school.

4. Abaat village received good news earlier this week when the water drilling company discovered clean, fresh water on the school compound. I remember the second time I came to this village the people were walking six miles to get water to survive. Additionally, the men of Abaat are taking the lead in spiritual matters so the people are growing spiritually. The children are getting an education and learning to trust in God.

Pelekech Development Update

We are thrilled to announce the construction of much-needed housing for teachers in Pelekech. This vital project will provide five fully furnished two-bedroom apartments, each equipped with a shower and kitchen, offering a significant improvement in living conditions for our dedicated educators.

Currently, teachers in Pelekech face the disheartening challenge of sleeping inside classrooms due to the lack of proper accommodation. By providing comfortable living spaces, this initiative not only addresses this immediate need but also underscores our commitment to supporting and valuing the educators who play a crucial role in shaping our community’s future.

Despite delays caused by ongoing rain and flooding across Kenya, progress continues on this important project. In addition to the teacher housing, we are constructing three buildings to house seven classrooms, enhancing the educational infrastructure in Pelekech village.

Stay tuned for more updates on this transformative development for our community and heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this vision a reality. Together, we are building a brighter future for our educators and students alike.

Update on Abbat and Pelekech

Abbat

Abbat village continues to thrive with an atmosphere filled with praise and worship. The children are progressing rapidly in their studies, demonstrating impressive proficiency in both English and Kiswahili in a remarkably short time. Our two dedicated teachers have proven themselves to be exceptional, earning high praise compared to others. As communicated in our recent update from lolemu, Abbat will be extending its school calendar to only one week instead of the government-mandated three weeks. This adjustment aims to ensure that the children have access to food and can efficiently catch up with the school syllabus. We kindly request your prayers for the timely provision of an additional teacher and for divine intervention in resolving the ongoing water issue.

Pelekech

Pelekech has undergone significant growth, evolving into a remarkable center with two additional classes nearing completion. What initially started as a modest initiative has transformed into a magnificent establishment, showcasing God’s faithfulness. However, Pelekech has encountered a minor setback as our compassionate teacher, Peterson, has been offered employment by an NGO, presumably offering better terms. We earnestly pray for compassion as they seek a replacement for Peterson, hoping to find an equally committed teacher. Meanwhile, our other teachers continue to excel, with Teacher Esther assuming overall leadership responsibilities in anticipation of the arrival of another teacher. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering prayers and support.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
