Pelekech Development Update

We are thrilled to announce the construction of much-needed housing for teachers in Pelekech. This vital project will provide five fully furnished two-bedroom apartments, each equipped with a shower and kitchen, offering a significant improvement in living conditions for our dedicated educators.

Currently, teachers in Pelekech face the disheartening challenge of sleeping inside classrooms due to the lack of proper accommodation. By providing comfortable living spaces, this initiative not only addresses this immediate need but also underscores our commitment to supporting and valuing the educators who play a crucial role in shaping our community’s future.

Despite delays caused by ongoing rain and flooding across Kenya, progress continues on this important project. In addition to the teacher housing, we are constructing three buildings to house seven classrooms, enhancing the educational infrastructure in Pelekech village.

Stay tuned for more updates on this transformative development for our community and heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this vision a reality. Together, we are building a brighter future for our educators and students alike.

Update on Abbat and Pelekech

Abbat:

Abbat village continues to thrive with an atmosphere filled with praise and worship. The children are progressing rapidly in their studies, demonstrating impressive proficiency in both English and Kiswahili in a remarkably short time. Our two dedicated teachers have proven themselves to be exceptional, earning high praise compared to others. As communicated in our recent update from lolemu, Abbat will be extending its school calendar to only one week instead of the government-mandated three weeks. This adjustment aims to ensure that the children have access to food and can efficiently catch up with the school syllabus. We kindly request your prayers for the timely provision of an additional teacher and for divine intervention in resolving the ongoing water issue.

Pelekech:

Pelekech has undergone significant growth, evolving into a remarkable center with two additional classes nearing completion. What initially started as a modest initiative has transformed into a magnificent establishment, showcasing God’s faithfulness. However, Pelekech has encountered a minor setback as our compassionate teacher, Peterson, has been offered employment by an NGO, presumably offering better terms. We earnestly pray for compassion as they seek a replacement for Peterson, hoping to find an equally committed teacher. Meanwhile, our other teachers continue to excel, with Teacher Esther assuming overall leadership responsibilities in anticipation of the arrival of another teacher. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering prayers and support.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

This milestone represents a significant achievement for the community, providing improved educational facilities for students and enhancing access to quality education. The completed structure stands as a symbol of progress and investment in the future of Lolemu’s generation.

This program aimed to enhance the well-being and spiritual growth of the incarcerated individuals, offering them opportunities for reflection, rehabilitation, and hope amidst their confinement.

Thanks to generous donations and community support, we were able to finance the installation of a much-needed fence around the children’s playground at the Thika women’s prison. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of these children and to make a meaningful difference in their environment.

Your support goes beyond bricks and mortar; it’s a commitment to holistic community development.

Abbot School & Church Progress

We are delighted to share the heartening progress in Abbot, a village in Northern Turkana, Kenya. Their earnest desire is  to receive an education and have a dedicated place of worship.  To address this need, we embarked on a mission to construct a multifunctional facility comprising a three-room schoolhouse, a toilet building, a kitchen with a storeroom, an office building, and a perimeter fence. The goal is to accommodate around 250 school children, providing them with not only education but also the opportunity to read the Word of God independently.

The estimated cost for this initiative, including two sets of school uniforms for each child, amounts to approximately $54,000 USD, which has already been raised. This comprehensive plan also includes provisions for two meals every weekday for the students. On Saturdays, both the children and their families will gather to share a meal and engage in the preaching of God’s word by a local pastor. Our vision is to complete the construction and inaugurate the school and church on February 19, 2024.

Your past, present, and future support have played a crucial role in these missions, and we express our heartfelt gratitude. As we witness the tangible progress in this transformative project, let us collectively remember the true reason for the season: Jesus Christ. Together, we are making a meaningful impact in the lives of these individuals, bringing education, faith, and hope to the community of Abbot.

The work for new school has started

We at HGM are also asking that you remember a group of people in a village called Abbot, in Northern Turkana, Kenya, who recently heard the gospel of Jesus! While visiting there, we witnessed eight of the elders with their families come forward and give their lives to Jesus. Praise the Lord! Unfortunately, they cannot read or write! They speak only their tribal language. They would like for their children to go to a school and to have a church building, but the closest school is 9 miles away and they would need to walk to get there! Please help us to provide a school/church building for them so they can be educated, and then they would be able to read the word of God on their own!

We are hoping to build a 3 room school house, toilet building, kitchen with storeroom, office building, and a fence around the perimeter the following for approximately 250 school children. All of this, together with 2 sets of school uniforms for each child, would cost approximately $54,000 USD. These children would also receive two meals Monday through Friday at school. On Saturdays, the children, together with their families, would receive a meal and will hear the preaching of God’s word by a local pastor. We are trusting God for the funds and hope to have a school/ church opening on February 19, 2024.

Thank you for your past, present, and future support! Your partnership with these missions has been greatly appreciated! Let’s all remember the real reason for the Season; Jesus Christ!

Water in Pelekech Kakuma Valley

The people of Kalekech Kakuma Valley have experienced a transformative change in their daily lives since the generous donation of a water tank by His Glory Ministries. Prior to this benevolent contribution, the community faced significant challenges in accessing clean and reliable water sources. The water tank has become a lifeline, providing a stable and clean water supply that meets the basic needs of the residents. Families no longer have to trek long distances to fetch water, sparing them from the physical strain and time-consuming efforts previously required. Moreover, the improved access to clean water has resulted in enhanced hygiene practices, reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases. The community is now able to allocate more time and resources to other aspects of development, fostering a healthier and more sustainable way of life. His Glory Ministries’ donation has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the well-being and prosperity of the people of Kalekech Kakuma Valley.

Fundraiser

We have been greatly blessed this year by God and you, our faithful supporters. We have seen God at work in many ways through the ministry of HGM. Family and Marriage ministry, Street Evangelism in New York and Columbus, OH, as well as a few international endeavors have been a blessing to many. Unfortunately, we needed to close the doors to the FAMM house in Thornville, Oh, the end of September. We have not been able to find another property suitable to continue the FAMM ministry locally. We are currently exploring an option in Florida, which would offer some of the same opportunities of ministry. Please pray with us for God’s direction in this. Another open door is in northern Kenya, Africa. Daniel made a number of trips to Kenya this year to research and develop a few projects in the Turkana County area. Two school buildings have been built and are being utilized by the people with approximately 340 students in Peleketch village and 210 students in Lolemu Village. People are in dire need of water and food, so we have been partnering with Christian Aid Ministries to aid with water wells and food supplies. May God bless you for your continued prayers and support of His work.

This Christmas, as we celebrate with family and friends, and as we look forward to 2024, let us not forget to give thanks for all the blessings of food, family, friends and most importantly, the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ! We at HGM are also asking that you remember a group of people in a village called Abbat, in Northern Turkana Kenya, who recently heard the gospel of Jesus! While visiting there, we witnessed eight of the elders with their families come forward and give their life to Jesus. Praise the Lord! Unfortunately,  they can not read or write! Please help us to provide a  school/church for them so they can be educated, and then they would be able to read the word of God on their own! We are hoping to build the following for approximately 250 schoolchildren: a 3-room schoolhouse, a toilet, a kitchen & storeroom, an office, and a fence around the perimeter. All of this together, with 2 sets of school uniforms for each child, would cost approximately USD 51,700. These children will also receive two meals Monday through Friday while at school. On Saturday’s, the children together with their families, will all have a meal together and will hear the preaching of God’s word by a local pastor. We are trusting God for the funds and to have a school/church opening on February 19, 2024.

During the Joy of the Lord Tour organized by His GLORY MINISTRIES in Northern Kenya, a series of impactful activities were undertaken to spread joy and support the local community. We engaged in outreach initiatives, reaching out to individuals and families in need, offering assistance, and fostering a sense of community. Through evangelism efforts, the tour aimed to share messages of hope and faith, providing spiritual support to those in attendance. Additionally, a significant aspect of the tour involved a food drive, addressing the vital need for sustenance in the community. We collaborated with local partners and donors to distribute essential food items, ensuring that residents could experience relief from food insecurity. Furthermore, we conducted school visits, emphasizing the importance of education and offering support to local schools. By combining outreach, evangelism, a food drive, and school visits, the Joy of the Lord Tour served as a holistic initiative, positively impacting the lives of the people in Abbat Village, Lomelu and Kakuma.
